National commemoration of heroes past and present
I am conscious there are too many monuments littering the Irish townscape. These ghastly examples of bad taste can commemorate people such as saints, generals in wars that didnt involve the Irish, or sometimes people who never existed at all, such as Myles the Slasher O'Reilly. I think we should pull all these down and replace them with one national monument to heroes both past and present. The design should be a fitting representation to those who, through their efforts,. have helped us become the nation we are. I would therefore suggest that the monument should take the form of a giant phallus, probably with a fountain which gushes a whitish liquid tasting of salt.
